the zoo story

We told Teague that we were going to the Boo Zoo on Thursday. That was a mistake. He thought we meant we were going to the Boo Zoo this morning. He was a little upset. So to make him feel better, Randy started to sing his favorite song at the moment, "If you're happy and you know it". We always let Teague choose the action (ie clap your hands, shout hooray, etc). So here is what he sang this morning:

If you're happy and you know it, go to the zoo.
If you're happy and you know it, go to the zoo.
If you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it.
If you're happy and you know it, go to the zoo.

We are back from Lansing and had a good visit today. All is well with us, but we don't have any news yet.

Teague's language development grew over night.

We were out today, and there was a picture of a giraffe on the wall. I pointed to it and said "what's that?"

Teague answered:

"It's a picture of a giraffe at the zoo."

I am off to go to the doctors today. I have coughed so hard the last couple of days that my head, neck and shoulders hurt. Randy - I'm only going because you want me to.

My new hair cut - it looks like Allyson's. But then again it's been a year since I've seen her. So it looks like Allyson's hair a year ago.

good morning

My college roommates used to make fun of me, for the way I would throw my hands up in the air for exaggerated effect. Now Teague does it! Watch his hands - it's exactly what I do with my hands. Oh, and he's pretending to fall asleep on the kitchen counter.

This book was so darling. Teague had it memorized the second day we had it. He still recites it, even though we took it back two weeks ago!
